Sun,Sun,Sun
A hot summer day in May. 27 °C, no wind, only the cars rushing by along the street blowing some fresh air into my face. The small village of Birgte seems to take a siesta, only the smell of some old farms giving me a sign of life here.
It’s 4 p.m., just got dropped off here at the end of town. The road I’m standing on is leading towards Saerbeck, with 10 kilometers of forest, fields and windmills inbetween. A perfect idyll of the rural Münsterland.
After only 5 minutes of waiting a car is stopping for me. It’s a Smart Cabrio, I can’t believe my eyes. A young woman with long blond hair sitting in there, going towards Münster. Me too, fantastic!
And while she is riding along the beautiful landscape inbetween Birgte and Saerbeck, I recognize that I just hitchhiked more than 25,000 km. There’s no better way to enjoy such a personal milestone than in a cabriolet.
More to come!
