Verboden Frucht (Belgium)

Verboden FruchtHoegaarden Verboden Frucht is a very rich and fruity dark beer from Belgium. With it’s 8,8 % alcohol, it has quite a high alcohol percentage.

Yesterday, I tried this special beer in the Vestingbar in Enschede. It’s kind of attractive with it’s etiquette, showing Adam and Eva drinking the “forbidden fruit” Well, after trying the beer, you maybe don’t feel like Adam back in those days, but obviously the beer seems to come out of the first days of human brewery. A biting taste, kind of sweet, but not too strong, let’s you enjoy the beer down right in your throat. Verboden Frucht has a red-brown color, looking quite funny if you’re only used to Pilsener beers.
Conclusion: To have something different than your daily Pils, once you can try the Verboden Frucht. I was not really up to drink another one after the first, feeling that a Verboden Frucht once might be enough. 5,5 out of 10 possible points from me.
